Bloomfield College is a four-year private liberal arts college located in Bloomfield, which is a township in Essex County, in the US state of New Jersey, with a population estimated at a number of more than 47 500 inhabitants, during the 2000 census. The college was established in 1868, being founded by the Presbyterian Church, and it first started as German Theological Seminary of Newark, New Jersey. Its current name was adopted in 1961.
